PHILOSOPHY STATEMENT
RCS believes in God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit. The school believes in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, and His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, His resurrection and His imminent return. The school believes that regeneration through the Holy Spirit is essential for the salvation of lost and sinful man. RCS believes in the continuing ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a Godly life.
RCS believes in the spiritual unity of all believers in our Lord Jesus Christ. Man was created in God’s image (Gen. 1:27). We believe mankind was born lost to God because of sin (Rom. 3:23). We must each make a personal commitment to Jesus as Lord and Savior (John 3:16).
The education philosophy of RCS is that “every child when fully trained will be like his teacher” (Luke 6:40). The promise of Proverbs 22:6 states, “Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it.” At RCS, we seek to acknowledge the Lord by promoting a strong academic environment (Colossians 1:7), and we seek to have a place in His plan (Deuteronomy 6:1-7).
RCS understands the importance of knowledge and wisdom. The Bible is clear on the use of knowledge; knowledge is facts or data, while wisdom is how mankind uses that knowledge. We teach that knowledge is good as long as it is taught through the Bible. At RCS, we believe we are responsible for integrating Biblical truth into every subject we teach.
RCS believes the Bible to be the inspired and only infallible, authoritative Word of God. We believe in Christian education because only through Christ can we know the truth, and only with born-again teachers can the student learn the truth. We are committed to sharing the truth of Jesus Christ with every family at RCS.
RCS recognizes that parents have the first responsibility to God to raise their children. The school has the responsibility to reinforce and support the parents and to work in partnership with the parents.
We believe God has given us Riverside Christian Schools. As we pray and work together, God will empower and enable us to do His good will. We are determined to be used by God to make a difference for eternity.
