VISION STATEMENT
It is our belief that Riverside Christian Schools has been established by God to meet the needs of young people—spiritually, emotionally, academically, and physically—and to help develop a consistency of environment whereby the home, church, and school will be in one accord.
We believe that our children and families are at risk. Therefore, we must be engaged in the battle to bring forth the truth of God’s Word and educate our young people with an understanding that there are absolute, definite, ongoing standards that will stand the test of time because they are authored by God Himself.
Whether the students are going on to higher education, vocational/technical arts training, or entering the work force directly, we feel it is our responsibility to prepare them to face a world that does not understand or appreciate those who are committed to Jesus Christ. We will do this through Bible classes and personal ministry experiences outside of school that stress a personal application of the Scriptures in every day life, and a growing, vibrant, defendable, unshakable relationship with Christ. While many churches have families at our school, we want to present the whole of God’s truth, free from denominational attachments, emphasizing that we are one in Christ, and demontrating that we are brothers and sisters in the faith.
In order to continue to have a well-attended high school and provide the two-track secondary program with enough students, and in order to meet the growing need for Christian education at all grade levels, satellite elementary schools and preschools will need to be established in the greater Riverside and Inland Empire areas, feeding directly into the secondary program. The current preschool and elementary programs will continue to be enhanced and provide a Christian education marked by excellence and spiritual soundness, preparing our children for secondary education. We believe God has directed us to grow and become a school system that will be able to meet the diverse needs of our students, thereby making a difference in their lives, helping them become productive members in society.
The high school two-track program that currently consists of a college preparatory track and a general education track will to be enhanced by a vocational and technical arts track. In addition to the need in our community for a Christian-based vocational and technical arts program, there is also a need for Christian-oriented special education for those with learning disabilities and special educational needs. To meet these needs, we will work toward establishing a special education program, but in a distinctly Christian educational environment.
While the classroom is the primary place we will minister, it will not be the only place. We will utilize Christian education as a vehicle to reach families, to help provide stability and consistency in the homes of our students, and to help equip parents for the role they play in rearing their children. We will accomplish this by sponsoring parent events and activities, and providing resources for our parents by establishing a Christian parents’ resource center. Furthermore, we will utilize Christian education as a means of ministering to our community, joining with other Christian organizations and social agencies to bring hope and help to those in need around us. We will accomplish this through joint projects and cooperative efforts with such organizations.
Additionally, we will utilize Christian education to further the cause of Christ both at home and abroad. We will accomplish this through evangelism in our classrooms, Chapel services, and retreats, and through mission efforts ranging from local outreach, to out-of-state journeys, and continuing to supporting mission projects abroad.
This is the vision we believe God has given us for Riverside Christian Schools. As we pray and work together, God will empower and enable us to see the realization of this vision. By training up students “in the way they should go” and by touching Riverside and touching the world, we are determined to be used by God to make a difference for eternity.
